The funeral of Prosecutor Aleksander Herzog

On Monday 15 January 2024, Prosecutor Aleksander Herzog, who died on 1 January, was laid to rest at Salwator Cemetery. He was a distinguished retired prosecutor of the National Public Prosecutor's Office, an advocate of the independence of the prosecution service and of the profession, and a member of the opposition movement in the 1980s.

Those attending included Deputy Minister of Justice Maria Ejchart, who spoke on behalf of Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar; Andrzej Seremet; and Edward Nowak of Solidarity, who thanked Herzog for his part in the struggle for a free Poland.

Representatives of prosecutors' associations, legal advisers and rifle associations also gave farewell addresses. Many friends and colleagues said goodbye and laid flowers on his grave. The ceremony was attended by a police guard of honour.

Our funeral home conducted the funeral of Aleksander Herzog. The ceremony was secular and was led by our funeral celebrant, Marcin Kruk. We thank the family for their trust.
