The funeral of Rafał Cygan, “Ali Olszański”

The funeral of Rafał Cygan, “Ali Olszański”

On 8 March 2026, at Rakowicki Cemetery in Kraków, we said goodbye to Rafał Cygan, known in the mountain community as “Ali Olszański”, an extreme snowboarder.

He died aged 41 in an avalanche in the Slovak Tatras. Family, friends and many people from the mountain community came to the funeral.

Letters and farewells written by his friends were read during the ceremony.

In keeping with the family's wishes, instead of flowers those present supported a fundraiser for Tomasz Góra's rehabilitation.

We thank the family for their trust.
