The funeral of Franciszek Smuda

On 22 August 2024, the football coach Franciszek Smuda was buried at Rakowicki Cemetery in Kraków. Lilia Funeral Home conducted the funeral. It was attended by his closest family, friends and acquaintances, as well as club officials, coaches and supporters.

Over the years Franciszek Smuda managed many Polish clubs, winning league titles and cups, and he also left his mark on the history of the Polish national team. He also managed Wisła Kraków.

At the cemetery were footballers who had worked with Franciszek Smuda or played under him, among them Marcin Wasilewski, Kamil Glik, Sławomir Peszko and Jakub Błaszczykowski. Also present were the coach and sports commentator Andrzej Strejlau, the sports journalist Mateusz Borek and the satirist Marcin Daniec.

Marcin Kruk, our funeral celebrant, oversaw the order of the Catholic funeral. We thank the family for their trust.
